What is the Biggest Sin Ever



Maybe the biggest is ever could be given an award as the "bestest sin." I don't know what the besterst sin ever might have been or might be today. The really BIG of any time is soon replaced by some newer or shinier sin.

Ever reader knows the current top sin, the one pointed to by holier than thou politicians and preachers is trans. While trans has been around since the begging of humans, it had a hard time making onto the sin leader board. Other sins wanted to hang on to their high status for as long as possible and kept trans from reaching the top. 

I would guess interracial marriage stayed on top of the sin leader board in the South for 400 years. Probably that is a record among sins. Just that longevity itself should lead to the award of bestest sin. But, we all know, it slipped so badly many do not remember it was once even sin.

We've had some sins in recent decades that did well. Gay marriage stayed at the top for a decade or two. Now it has slipped off the leader board. The Christian strategists decided trans would now be allowed its time as the top sin. The Christian press runs articles constantly against it. If anyone wanted to know all the passages in the Bible that said men and women are different one can find them in this link. 

The cave drawings that depicted uncertainty between animals and human even though the Bible did not allow such transition. There is a solution to that. It is to label cave drawing "porn." Problem solved.

What Was the "Argument" in the Election

I hate to add my blog to the piles of blogs and pundits analyzing and pondering the meaning of the just passed election. But that's what I feel like doing today. I've always like Senator Ted Cruz's summary of politics. He once said, "First, win the argument. Then, win the election." I think there is a way of applying that to anti abortion Catholics and Protestants. The link talks of Catholics who now feel they have no political home because Republicans let them down with Trump but they remain against abortion rights. Taking Cruz's win-the-argument thesis, I'd call the past election about an argument between two groups. One group's argument was, "Trump's a jerk." The other's argument was, "Abortion is wrong." Time to Forget the Christian Nation Thing

While women are forbidden from being priests/preachers in some branches of Christianity thank goodness they are not forbidden from writing and lecturing about Christianity. A great article about the "Christian nation" notion shows us the U.S. is not a Christian nation and hopefully never will be.
