Maybe Hindu Voters are the Sleeping Giant
I've always thought atheists and nones will not be the big forces in separating religion from government. Today, parts of Christianity are bull dozing their way back into government. So called religious liberty or religious freedom are being used to limit both religious liberty and freedom..
Why secular people like me complain, it falls mostly on deaf ears. "What right do you have to complain about too much religion when you don't have any. You are not in this conversation." The bigger forces have never taken out their guns. These are other religions, especially religions that have a chip on their shoulders.
I've visited with Hindus who are of both the push-against-the-Christian dominance and the keep-our-heads-down so no one knows we're here. Both are OK. We secular people, however, benefit most from Hindus who want to push back.
I've known a couple of Hindu men who scoffed at Christianity. Mostly, their deal is that Hinduism was here long before Christianity and has papers to prove it. I don't understand why an older religion is more valid than a newer one. Odds are the are both based on the imagination of humans rather than anything bigger.
Hinduism has a lot of violence in its history. Leaders in India have been assassinated. I don't have any hope it's better/.
