The Formula for a Republican Win Includes Trump Humiliation



What gets published and what not is always a surprise. A headlined article today was a formula to a Republican victory in the upcoming Midterms. The first thing Republicans need to do, according to the Republican author, is to stop the rise in the cost of living.

Republicans have the Presidency, House and Senate. They could do that and win the Midterms. Readers know what that would entail. It would be the complete humiliation of Trump. Republican lawmakers are too timid to do that.

To end the rising prices of fuel and food all oil shipments need to roll around the world. This includes the Strait. It might involve paying Iran for safe passage. Iran's uranium needs to remain with Iran. Tariffs on China, Mexico and Canada need to be dropped so goods coming into our country are cheaper. They would drop their tariffs and we could sell grain, software and services to them. Restrictions on workers coming into the country need to be lowered so we have an adequate supply of workers. 

These are all doable changes that could help Republicans. Readers can see each one of them remain stupid passions of Trump and heads would roll if they were corrected so the country could get back on track.

What baffles me is that any Republican cannot see the obstacle to Republican success in the Midterms. That obstacle is the psychological basket case named Donald Trump. A rational healthy mind would see the problem and solution. That mind is not present.

Talarico Looks Like an Obama II

We all have our ideas about what is good or smart politics. I'm no different. Those who read this blog have to hear mine. My thinking is millions of voters will go to the polls in the next two elections for the specific purpose of voting against Trump. Most of these voters, however, will not admit that is why or how they are voting. They will have convinced themselves they are voting for some reason more idealistic and loftier. An example of what they might say to themselves is, "I'm voting for a better country." The job of Democrats, Libertarians, Socialists and whomever is to give those voters something that ends the sentence, "I'm voting for someone other than a Republican because..."  The sentence will not end in "...I hate Trump." It will be something else. While women are forbidden from being priests/preachers in some branches of Christianity thank goodness they are not forbidden from writing and lecturing about Christianity.
