Christians, Have Your Dreams Analyzed, $50

We all know there are people all around us trying to get at our money. They call on the phone and advertise everywhere. If there was a contest to find the most outrageous scam that takes peoples' money, what do you think it would be?

Is there a place where atheists take money and give us nothing in return? I've never heard of such a thing. Christianity is full of such scams. Christian numbers are falling. Atheist numbers are growing.,

Giving money to a church is problematic in several ways. First most, maybe 90+% goes to pay the preacher and maintain the building. The "tithe" is about paying the church's bills, not some more lofty cause.

Today I read a column by a woman who apparently makes a living listening and interpreting the dreams of Christians. Her site advertises standard dream interpretation at $50 for 30 minutes but more advanced interpretation will cost you $75. She is so knowledgeable she can even determine whether your dream is a message from God or from "the spirit."

I wonder if the "industry" of talking to invisible things, hearing from them and helping others with the imaginary and invisible is growing or declining. Certainly, it seems to be doing well.

I don't know the difference between dreams that have messages from God and what psychiatrists regard as an illness, hearing voices.

Christianity owes its success to believing in dreams and visions. We all know the major source of what Christianity is supposed to be about comes from the writings of "Paul." "Paul" claimed to know what the faith is supposed to teach because he chatted with Jesus himself. The chat took place long after Jesus was dead. "Paul" claimed Jesus visited him in a "vision." The Bible says "Many were present" at the visit with Jesus but no one ever wrote that he/she was present.

Maybe "Paul's" tale of a vision with Jesus would be more credible if Paul had spent $50 to have the lady from the website above verify it was the real Jesus he talked to.
