Kid Rock Has Hit the Rocks



Kid Rock is a MAGA star. He is rich from sold out concerts with music and ridicule of liberals. Now, he has lowered ticket prices by half. One concert was cancelled because of low ticket sales. Polling numbers tell us Trump is not popular. Those of us who don't like him have been blindsided by his supporters. 

There have been several actual elections to state government won by opponents of Trump. These seem like more important events than polls. To me, a decline of hard-earned dollars spent on Kid Rock also are more important than poll numbers in revealing what the public is thinking.

That Rock's ticket sales are down needs to be put into perspective with the entire concert industry. I've read it had a very successful 2025 but may be slipping a bit now. Kid Rock appears to be falling instead of slipping.

Personas such as Kid Rock are perceived to be standing up to what we generically call, "The establishment." Every reader here has an idea of what is the establishment and most of us are against it, whatever it is.

It seems like Trump himself has become in the eyes of his former supporters "The establishment." According to some who write or appear in the news, there are supporters who now see him as no longer their friend. 

Where I now live, Iowa, there has been a history of wide swings in majorities voting. The state went for Obama twice. It has been for Trump 60%. A political writer noted the size of voters who do not identify with a party is large here, It is close to the number who identify as either Democrat or Republican. If this is similar across the Middle West my guess is a big swing to Democrats in the Mid Terms.

Will We Ever Know How Accurate Current Bibles Are

When I discuss the many times the Bible was copied and recopied by scribes over a couple of thousand years, the reply is often, "I have a book by this (or that) expert who says the Bible is 99% accurate to its original writers." The 99% claim appears in various places defending the Bible. There is one thing we know absolutely: There is no surviving original copy of the Bible. Even the oldest surviving material is a generation or two after the time some of the Bible was written. This means no one can claim he has, or ever will, compare the current Bible to the original Bible and find the two are 99% the same. We cannot claim either that it is not 99% accurate. For the sake of discussion, however, assume the current Bible is 99% accurate. That would mean the one word out of every 100 was inaccurate. What Was the "Argument" in the Election

I hate to add my blog to the piles of blogs and pundits analyzing and pondering the meaning of the just passed election. But that's what I feel like doing today. I've always like Senator Ted Cruz's summary of politics. He once said, "First, win the argument. Then, win the election." I think there is a way of applying that to anti abortion Catholics and Protestants. The link talks of Catholics who now feel they have no political home because Republicans let them down with Trump but they remain against abortion rights. Taking Cruz's win-the-argument thesis, I'd call the past election about an argument between two groups. One group's argument was, "Trump's a jerk." The other's argument was, "Abortion is wrong."
