Trump and Church Goers are Splitting

If you were a church going Republican, a secular Republican or an independent that leaned conservative  and looked at Kamala Harris versus Donald Trump in 2024, you may not have really like either of them. But Harris was new and just a bit "off" from the old school Democratic candidates you were used to. The best example of the latter was Joe Biden. Add that the prices of groceries had gone up. It tipped the scale for such voters to Trump.

Now, however, something Trump never considered is happening. It is the morals, ethics and religious overtones around rounding up and shipping out people who immigrated here, legally or not. To this group of voters Trump's abuse of women and profiting from being President did not tip the scales against him. There was something they did not like about Harris, Trump also has some baggage. Harris just had a little bit more. Rounding up and shipping out people seems to be heavy baggage.

While the Epstein files keep coming and there is nothing but trouble for Trump, the entire saga is Trump shooting himself in the foot. Rounding up human beings, separating families and sending some to terrible places has a different and, it seems to me, more harmful vibe.
