Religion is the Source of Good Morals??

There must be hundreds, maybe thousands, of articles published each year that say, "Atheists are lost and unhappy. In addition, there would be no absolute moral standards without religion, especially Christianity." This is more ridiculous than flying invisible gods and ghosts.

Facts on the ground are that humans have existed for about 300,000 years. The Judeo/Christian religion has existed for 5,000 years give or take. How did humans live for 295,000 years with no Ten Commandments to base laws on and how did they survive 295,000 years of sin because there was no "absolute moral standard?" I guess their making what they believe to be a statement of fact, that there would be no moral standard without Christianity, is supposed to give the faith some importance. That is absolutely is not true makes the faith less important than it was before the incorrect assertion. It would be smart of Christians to never use that laughable statement again.

As discussed before here, evidence is native populations that lived on the American continent before Europeans changed the way they were organized regularly to adjust to changing conditions and different prevailing opinions. Perhaps native languages had the term for "times are changing."

It is common for those who say they previously were not believers but converted to claim they left non belief because the faith provides absolute moral standards. I've never seen anyone claim to have seen immoral behavior among non believers they knew. Instead they jump to Hitler and Stalin and claim they were representatives of atheism and that if the U.S. became an atheist nation it would become the WWII society of Hitler.

An example of Christian morality was Joseph Kony of Uganda. One night I watched with disbelief as Pat Robertson said in spite of the claims Kony had killed 100,000 people and abducted 60,000 children to be soldiers or sex slave we should remember, "He is a Christian." Some say Robertson prospered with TV stations in Uganda.

Christianity is not a source of good morals.
