Why are There so Many Late Abortions


There are about 9,000 late term abortions in the U.S. each year. This is a very small percentage of the total abortions but they are an important part of women's health care. The reasons for these abortions include child pregnancies, dead fetuses and other very complicated circumstances. In a perfect world we would know about each case. Since we cannot do this, we are left with the right wing's explanation women have these expensive and difficult abortions for fun. This is not true but because the topic is so sensitive and not discussed much in public the right has had the upper hand. 

It is popular among Forced Birth operatives to rail at late term abortions. There is this popular game of demanding how many months along a pregnancy can be to "allow" abortions. This is ridiculous on its face because the mantra of Forced Birth is the one fertilized cell in a human being. If this is their rock certain position, there can be no difference whatsoever between an abortion at one cell and one just before birth. It's laughable Force Birth makes arguments for earlier rather than later pregnancy termination dates of legal abortions.

One of the most cynical of Forced Birth arguments is that pregnant children must be forced to give birth. This position is based on the one celled human being theory. Since there is no scientific or factual information the one cell IS a human being there is no reason to force a pregnant child to give birth. 

I've read the problems faced by a few of the women who have had late abortions. There are a host of problems, social and medical, given. In all of the cases I read about, the woman made a rational and reasonable decision. There are 9,000 decisions by women each year and I support every one of them.

Forced Birth would help our country if it would face up to a few facts. Fact one is it will never eliminate late term abortions of abortions in general. That abortions have increased since Roe was overturned is something you should take note of. You are helpless and totally ineffective when faced with women who need abortions. They are and will defeat you.

Fact two is each late-term abortion has a story behind it. If you do not want to hear these stories then drop out of the Forced Birth political thing. If you do learn these stories, you will come to understand why there have always been late term abortion and always will be.

Who Suffers from a "Hardened Heart"

Some years ago on this blog there was a discussion about what the Bible calls "The hardened heart." The "hardened heart" was the explanation given for why people like me cannot accept the tenets of Christianity. We are unable to believe there are floating spirits and gods or imaginary places people go when the die. Now, a prominent Christian preacher and author has given us a way to diagnose the "hardened heart." It contained some surprises.  Rev. John Piper, who spoke about the hardened heart, said we can see this in a person who lacks "ordinary tenderness and compassion." Young Women can see Bull$hit a Mile Away

Republicans including their Forced Birth subgroup is bother by recent election results and polling. All show young women going to the left. A poll shows young women are 30% more likely to be very liberal than young men. The link advises the Forced Birth community to give young pregnant women an uplifting message. The message suggested is, "Buck up. You've got this. You can give birth and have a happy life." Another way of saying this is, "It will be OK if you miss work and/or are fired because of the birth. If you cannot make your rent payment, it's OK. Somewhere out there is another place to live. We don't know where but be optimistic."   This is an add on to the new version of the Forced Birth message, "We're for both the baby and the mother." They are not and never have been for the mother.
