That Trump Was Sent by God Remains in Play

That thousands, perhaps millions, of voters believe Trump was sent by God to be our President is not Trump's fault. This even though he promotes the idea. The idea comes from every preacher, priest and parent that teaches about invisible beings and ghosts. Our human minds seem to be programed to reach for imaginary beings. The job of every responsible citizen is to push that notion out of human heads. It is a self-destructive flaw.

Trump hints at his inside link to God. This political practice has been popular since the beginning of recorded history. The king and the religious figure would unit. Often the king would eventually become the religious leader. If, in the U.S. a religious figure became President, why would God want us to have another election? God would not want his guy to be defeated and replace with someone of lesser God credentials.

The world of invisible beings and ghosts preached about every week by Christian clergy has consequences that should not be ignored. Hearing voices, even the "voice of God, is an unhealthy mind and should not be a President. I've read several places W. Bush prayed several times a day. Could it be he thought God wanted him to invade two different countries and sacrifice many thousands of lives?

I live in Iowa and, as I write this, it is only a few days until Republicans hold their Presidential caucus. Between now and then is a Sunday. That gives Trump supporting preachers the chance to tell those in the pews God expects them to vote for God's friend. Often, I've heard, there are church suppers on caucus night paid for by a candidate followed by a mass trip to the political meeting. So far as I know, this is not a practice of the sinful and secular Democrat Party.

Abortion, gays and book burning are part of Republican caucus night. Now we can add God's voice to it.

  1. Jon,
Wishing you and yours a healthy, rewarding new year. I guess healthy is reward enough at our age.

The notion that mankind was created in a God’s image just keeps getting more meaningless. What kind of god would gift Trump to evangelical Christians? I suspect one crafted by evangelical Christians. We got jealous gods. Angry gods. Vengeful gods. Sons of gods. Talk of kings, kingdoms, angels, and demons. That’s all human shat. Ain’t no god worthy of the name needs our allegiance, our worship, our sacrifice. Those are gods created in man’s image. Mankind has formed light, created darkness, made peace and created evil with their gods. The will to create them may yet doom humanity. Humans did all that. Yet, we can be good without gods. We can do good without gods. That is the zenith of Faith.

    1. Ardy B--Thank you and best wishes to you for the new year. I'm always glad I get to see a new one.

Thanks, too, for those comments. So many human minds, so many gods created. I'm reading a book by a retired professor of religion, a Chistian, Roger E. Olson. It was written to help the world understand what is the true, accurate and absolutely correct Christianity. Oh yeah, that again. He addresses atheism and brings up what so many Christians bring up here, with only humans to define the good and the moral there is no "standard," it is arbitrary. The OT with its murder of a couple of million innocent people, the NT with its lies about events and then the current endorsement of Trump--I need to stop. All the best to you.
