Scientists Might Be Replicating the Creation of the First Life


We know how science provided us with an explanation as to how today's humans, animals and plants came to be. By observing evolution taking place right now, science can say with confidence that is what happened in the past. That to survive living things changed is the only logical explanation that exists. 

Scientists are drilling into the earth's core to find the chemicals and gases that formed when the earth formed. By combining these elements at the hot temperatures a different product is created. This will provide an explanation of how original life would have come about. Doubters, especially religious doubters, have said since forever there will never be a better explanation than the Creation Story in the Bible for the creation of life. A better explanation is coming.

It has been known for quite a while that extreme heat can cause chemical reactions. If the earth's original rocks began to have chemical reactions to this heat their chemistry would likely change. This, the theory tells us, is how the characteristics to form the first living thing could have happened. If this is carried out in a lab we will have a rational explanation as to how life could have begun on planet earth. If we can duplicate this event it will move even farther ahead of the Bible's version. No one has proposed an experiment where God shows us how he created the universe of life on this planet. I'm not holding my breath for this one.  

The idea that life was first formed by heating elements found in the original earth has been around a long time. Richard Dawkins discussed this in his hugely popular book, The God Delusion. I heard him lecture and chatted with him several years ago. His thinking was that lightening would have been the super charged heat source for the necessary chemical reaction. The new idea is the heat source would more likely have been that in the earth's core.

I follow blogs centered on a branch of Lutheranism. There preachers praise the work of God in creating the universe. They say God made the world "orderly." They never elaborate on what they mean. I read into it they mean God made two genders and they, male preachers, are the better of the two. In reality, the only "orderly" thing that happened was some chemical reaction and the evolution that followed.

The Religious Capitol Invaders May Yet Win

So much about U.S. society and religion can be learned from the Civil War and what happened afterwards. After its defeat, the South started a myth about the unethical soldiers from the North. The South fought for principles of God and states rights. The North did not. It was the South, this propaganda told the country, that had the high moral ground.  The Capitol invaders, encouraged by Trump, swallowed the myth that Biden's election was stolen. Thus, they think they held and still hold the high moral ground. This was reinforced by the cross and prayers during the invasion. Father Frank Pavone, the Ultimate Crook

Recently, the Vatican defrocked Frank Pavone. His diehard fans are outraged. This is because he cleverly manipulated his fans and the press all the while living well from donations and, apparently, abusing some women. By making abortion the "sin" of the century, and himself the main opposition to this one sin, he himself could get away with any sin he pleased.  As the link points out, Pavone was the perfect priest for the Trump era. Trump is so self-important laws have no role in his life. He felt accountable to no one. Women were there to be had. Pavone and Trump are interchangeable.  Pavone was very successful raising money.
