Judge in Texas Allows an Abortion Texas Wanted Stopped

A young woman in Texas asked a judge to allow a doctor to perform her abortion. Her pregnancy suffers from an abnormality called Trisomy. It means the fetus, if carried to term, will die shortly after birth. The woman had been making regular visits to ER for bleeding.  The judge allowed the abortion to take place in Texas. The Texas Attorney General is screaming objections.

The woman has two small children and is in such poor health traveling to another state is not possible. Her doctors, I assume, thought they might lose their licenses if the provided the abortion and crazy Texas AG came after them. I assume the Texas AG did not want a judge making the decision because it can be used by future judges as president. The AG wants to be the final authority of which abortions are allowed and which ones he will use to go after a doctor's license.

I would predict the AG's concerns are well founded, once one woman has used successfully the courts to get an abortion others will do the same. Judges will use past permission for abortions to justify the permission they themselves grant.

The link quotes the Texas AG as warning doctors his office will be coming after them if they try use this judges decision to justify abortions by current doctors. This is identical to the way AG's in third world countries which are anti-abortion handle abortion. They pick out vulnerable women and doctors, ones which they think do not have the money to hire good lawyers, and go after them. It is the theater of enforcement, not actual enforcement, that is important. El Salvador is such a country, corrupt and anti-abortion. The third highest cause of death among young women in El Salvador is home abortions. As has been reported a gazillion times, laws against abortion do not affect the number of abortions. These laws only help conservative politicians and the Catholic clergy.

Since I started writing this the AG filed trying to stop the abortion until he engaged in some legal maneuver. He reiterated his threat against doctors. It was also claimed any citizen is free to file charges against the doctors or anyone who helped the woman, even if it was just driving her in a car.

This entire saga is a disgrace. Hopefully, voters both in Texas and in other states will take note. They need to remember the forced birth cult is from another planet and have no place in our government.
