What is the Most Persecuted Group in the World

Every day, on every continent, innocent people are singled out for simply being different and killed. Christians are among them in some countries. In the U.S. trans people are killed every day for being trans. In some countries, the government itself can legally kill atheists and homosexuals as well as others.

November is the month to Pray for the Persecuted Church. This has been designated by a group which focuses on persecuted Christians worldwide. Christians should not be persecuted anywhere. Neither, however, should Christians stand by quietly and watch others being persecuted. I've not heard that Christian missionaries in Africa are taking a strong stand against killing homosexuals. The link instructs Christians to pray for other Christians. It would be refreshing to hear a call for prayers that atheists and homosexuals not be killed.

While there is no standard measurement I know of for determining the most persecuted group in the world, atheists and homosexuals seem more likely candidates. Then there is the 50% of the world population that is female. It is treated badly in most places including the U.S. Several branches of Christianity will not allow women to be ordained pastors/priests. Christians promoting the second class status for women are no doubt at the front shouting about persecution of Christians.

The famous Salem Witchcraft Trials had Christians at the forefront. I'd bet Christians were among the first in a dead woman's house picking up possessions to sell for profit.

We've pointed out here countless times that cultures create the gods any given set of people worship. When the dominant culture creates a god different than one created in your culture you will be in for a hard time. It should not be that way but when we allow religions to take over this is what we get.

We have discussed the view of the Speaker of the House who is certain Christianity is the most persecuted of all religions. With the trillions of dollars the House approves each year it might be wise in include a study of all groups in the world to determine which one is really the most persecuted. I'm sure the Speaker would not want to actually know if he is right or not.
