Nikki Haley Promised to Address Abortion Directly, But Didn't

Nikki Haley has some things going for her, her youth and gender. She is a bit different from the clown car of Republican candidates for the Presidency in that she does not pledge to eliminate abortion in the entire country. Neither does Trump but some other clowns like Pence claim that is the goal.

There is an adage that circulates in politics today which keeps coming back. It is the way to handle abortion is be in one camp or the other and ride it wherever it goes. The way not to handle it is to stay on the fence. Haley stays on the fence. Biden, Harris and a cast of other Democrats have staked out choice positions and will ride it out. "Choice" is now seen as pro women, "Life" is now seen as anti-women. Keep it simple, stupid.

Some dufus Senators like Lindsay Graham keep dabbling in "weeks" of pregnancy. It's 20 weeks, 15 weeks, 10 weeks and six weeks. They try to disguise or play a trick on eliminating all abortions. It is as if everyone in the country is debating the number of weeks before it is "murder." How can Graham claim it is "murder" after 15 weeks and not before. He thinks he has a brilliant way to ride the fence. Won't work.

If you one who believes it's ok to perform abortion at six weeks but not at 12 weeks, why is this ok?  If 12 weeks is murder of a human being why is six weeks not? Nikki Haley and Trump are both in favor of "murder." She never explained why she thinks it is acceptable to allow abortions for rape and incest. She is not explaining her position unless she explains herself on why she will support exceptions.

Some Republicans are agreeing with Haley that Republicans are being hurt by abortion. Trump has said it is hurting also. All of them talk about fixing the political problem by stressing how kind they are in allowing exceptions to the no abortion rule.

I remember clearly decades ago watching Sen. Bob Dole saying, "We Republicans welcome the religious right." Now, there is angst in the Party over this welcome. The Party would be stronger today is had stuck with smaller government instead of embracing government overreach.

  1. you really like to throw around the epithets. so let me return the favor. look at the Democrtic clowns: gaffe prone Joe and Kamla Harris, who is llikely to become prez when olde Joe kicks the bucket. but not to worry. she may be seventeen ways stupid but by golly she's rabidly pro-abortion.

  2. Jon, “I remember clearly decades ago watching Sen. Bob Dole saying, "We Republicans welcome the religious right. The Party would be stronger today [if it] had stuck with smaller government instead of embracing government overreach.“

I trust swallowing Christian Bible conservatism, hook, line, and culture left a bitter taste with some in the Republican Party. What a hangover now. Pissed off conservatives walking around muttering, engaging in sudden fits of yelling, shadowboxing with their own apparition. But then there are the 23 Republican “deep states” created so far. Some stacked from the governor to municipal schoolboards. Maybe it’s beneficial to get a real feel for totalitarianism. My father did when the Nazi’s tried to kill him in the Hürtgen Forest.

    1. Ardy B -- I liked "shadow boxing with their own apparition."

That would DeSantis releasing his dramatic piece of anti-abortion legislation at night instead of a press conference. He made his bed, he doesn't want to lie in it. The first lemming, carrying a flag and a cross, has jumped off the cliff followed by confused conservative masses.
