Women Can Now Get Abortion Pills by Mail

According to the NY Times, abortion pills have been approved for sale at any qualifying pharmacy to be picked up or mailed with only a confidential prescription. Abortions using these pills now account for about one half of all abortions. Formerly use of the pills was supposed to have been in a doctor's presence. I assume that when this system gets streamlined a woman will be able to call her doctor, or some other doctor, and have her prescription sent her.

With these medical abortions becoming more popular each year this new system should make it easier than it ever has been in history to get abortions. Efforts will be made to stop this is some states by there will be thousands of abortions performed right under the noses of pious right-wing clergy and politicians.

Already, the hypocrite religious commentators are saying, "This is not safe. The pills should be taken in the presence of a doctor." This is quite dishonest. Anti-abortion whackos want women who are pregnant to give birth. Giving birth is riskier to women than taking abortion meds. While anti-abortion people are against sin, it is not a sin to mislead or shade the truth to their advantage.

Misleading and misdirection is smiled on in Christianity. Paul in 1 Cor. 9:20 told those converting the heathen to appear as a Jew when with Jews. The modern version is to appear as concerned about the health of women when actually advocating harm.

This country ranks lowest in women's health among the prosperous countries of the world. As I watch Republicans organize to run the House of Representatives there appears no interest whatsoever in health care for anyone. Yet, I heard scripture quoted when a Republican was nominating someone for House Speaker. It is the party of the God that wants lower taxes.

As some states have tried to limit the number of abortions within their borders since the Roe overturn, abortion access has opened up elsewhere. This mirrors U.S. attitudes toward religion generally. It imposes "standards" and "morals." The public goes on its merry way making up its own mind on such matters.
