What is the Big Strategy Now for Forced Birth Operatives

For decades, those who want to force pregnant women to give birth have espoused their big picture strategy. It was to go state by state and pass laws outlawing abortions. This was expressed most often by those making a living opposing abortion. It was employment security.

After Tuesday, and before Tuesday in Kansas, the tally for abortion rights is six for six. Forced birth did not win anywhere. I am waiting to read how the Big Strategy will be altered to ensure employment and cash flow for forced birth operatives. It is clear going state by state will be state by state defeats. What to do?

When faced with impossible odds, Christians will often say the solution is to pray. Forced-birth groups could do that.

What is nuts about the last few years is forced-birth groups had making up bogus reasons to raise the cost of abortions and harass the women having abortions. They added ultrasound pictures, waiting periods and other costs. While this made no dent in abortion numbers, it did not make abortions easier to obtain. It was safe because it did not spur political reactions to enshrine abortion right in many state constitutions. On top of that, it was a successful fund-raising gimmick. A small army of people now makes a living as political operatives.

The big mistake was endorsing Trump and his promise to appoint forced birth Supreme Court Justices. He did this and it set in motion events which in due time will make abortions easier to obtain and politicians reluctant to oppose. Forced birth voters have never been the brightest porchlights on the block and this can be seen by their support of the worst President in recent history.

In all battles, political or otherwise, those on the losing side try to cut their losses when losing. Forced birth groups could do that now by pledging to not have abortions themselves but backing out of trying to pass laws outlawing it.

  1. As president and Chief Operative of Forced Birth North Dakota I am happy to report that we are winning big.

There have been no abortionas in ND for 4 months. We have 'forced' every pregnant woman to terminate her pregnancy by giving birth to a living human being.

    The women are happy.

    1. Matt---"There have been no abortions in ND for 4 months." Readers from other areas of the country might not know the clinic which provides abortion merely moved from Fargo, where the legislature is trying to stop abortion, to Moorhead, MN, a few minutes away from where it was in ND. Not one single pregnant woman was forced to give birth by the relocation.

While your post was obviously tongue-in-cheek, it is similar to the deceptive propaganda always cranked out by forced birth operatives. The earliest protesters at the clinic carried signs with pictures of eight month fetuses pretending these were the abortions in the clinic. Back then I received maybe a hundred letters with a picture of a dead baby in a garbage can. It implied the corpse was a fetus from an abortion. Yet, it could not have been. This practice seems to have been stopped along with the deceptive advertising forced birth did at the bigging. Christian pregnancy centers tried to advertise they gave abortions until a judge stopped them.

  2. Matt, “There have been no abortions in ND for 4 months.” Where oh where are ND women going to terminate a pregnancy? Perhaps right in the comfort of their own homes far from the prying eyes of vigilante prigs. I am happy for women that choose to take control of their reproductive life; abstain, contracept, abort, or deliver.

I wish you all the best leading your fictional Forced Birth North Dakota whatchamacallit. Fantastic! Maybe in your afterlife you will become a male seahorse; get impregnated by a lovely female; fertilize her eggs and incubate the fetuses in your brood pouch; weeks later go into body-spasming labor; and deliver a thousand babies. Be assured, the female will keep a very close eye on your pouch. Heaven be praised. It could happen.
