Kathy Lee Gifford Tells Preachers They Have it all Wrong

Gifford is a wealthy celeb and can get attention. She has concluded the original Greek, etc,. languages have not been translated correctly. I looked up information about her. There is lots of it. I could not find what she thinks the Bible says about abortion and homosexuality. One article links her to a strong forced-birth position.

I'm waiting to learn how she links forced birth and the Greek writers to the Bible. Bible scholars like Bart Ehrman steadfastly maintain the Bible does not condemn abortion. Abortion was practiced during the period the Bible was written. It just does not appear there.

Kathy Lee Gifford can join many millions of others who are confident they know what the original writers wrote, who they wrote it for and how it might apply to today. Every preacher who stands behind the pulpit thinks he/she is an expert. So does everyone who sits in the pews. President Trump told Pat Robertson, "No one reads the Bible more than me." If he reads the Bible more than anyone, obviously we should listen to his views on what the Bible says, not those of Kathy Lee Gifford.

It's a little surprising anyone is paid to be an expert in the Bible. There are so many they are available for free. In economics when a surplus exists it's time to lower the price. I know, of course, only those who interpret the Bible "correctly" are worth big bucks. Joel Osteen held the Bible up high to a big crowd in Yankee Stadium. He didn't say much about it but his payday means he is an expert.

Seminaries have professors who teach courses in the Bible. Each denomination has a different take on the Bible so, I assume, each teaches something different. The first week or two of class, Bart Ehrman has his large Bible 101 class break into small groups. Each group is the agree about exactly what happen and when it happened during the execution of Jesus and the days following. Inside each group arguments break out. After some time each group reports what members have agreed on. Arguments break out between groups about what happened and when. I would enjoy being an observer of that class.

Kathy Lee Gifford, good luck on straightening everyone else out. They are all coming to straighten you out.
