The "International Conpiracy" to Provide Abortion Rights

Not only is there a long experience in the U.S. of obtaining abortions when they are not legal, it is common all over the world. There is a well-funded organization in Europe with branches all over the globe providing both above and underground abortion meds. It is sad to think the U.S. might become one of those backwards countries where such organizations need to set up shop but it could happen.

Polls show the majority in Europe has put Christianity in its rear view mirror. This makes it easier to also put in the past Christian-based views on things such as abortion and gender. Hopefully the U.S. can make progress in catching up to Europe in these progressive issues and Europe can help move the needle just a bit in the U.S.

One can be thankful for the international positive help from our neighboring nations of Canada and the U.S. Canada poured millions of gallons of beer and spirits into the U.S. during prohibition which no doubt make our laws seems as ridiculous as they were. There is at least the potential for our neighbors to send in lots of medical abortion pills and accommodate patients who travel there.

We can be thankful for various ways in which international communication and travel has allowed U.S. citizens to navigate around this country's whacko preoccupation with religion. I've read that the country of Thailand has developed a large practice of gender change surgery and provides luxury accommodations for such patients. I doesn't seem logical patients must travel to the other side of the globe for quality and reasonably price medical services but that is today's reality. Travel will be required for abortions as well.

Those of us who cannot personally change laws or change peculiar religious beliefs can help by providing money. I just received a mailing for a nation-wide fund drive to pay for abortions. My check went immediately into the mail. I hope others can do the same.

  1. nothing new here. the usual Lingren palaver. better be a tad careful about Europe, however. as far as I know they, unlike the US, don't have abortion up to birth (or beyond). consider Russia, which after losing a million citizens in the past several years alone, is trying to reduce the incidence of abortion. or Hungary. I could pontificate further but, for now, will leave it to you to do a little research. good thing to do before you sound off. in the meantime, I must wonder about the howling pro-abortion zealots in the US who want to maximize the number of abortions. no limits here sister.

    1. "..who want to maximize the number of abortions."

It's fun to see Onion doing sarcastic parody of backwater anti abortion states like Missouri.

    1. tsm "kinda off the wall." Off the wall is the religious belief one fertilized cell has more rights than the woman--even though the cell is part of her body. That is off the wall.
