What is the Cruelest Phrase in the Catholic Church

The phrase is "intrinsically disordered." If you are gay, bi and trans you are "intrinsically disordered."

This is in line with all of Christianity which says, "If you don't believe in our particular god there is something wrong with you. There is nothing wrong with us."

The Catholics, and some Protestants, also pile on with "natural law." Things that give clergy more power and influence are natural laws. The opposite violates natural law.

Thus, people who don't agree with Catholic clergy or are a little different are intrinsically disordered or are violating natural law. Is there anything inside the Christian faith that is a "little off" or so weird it could be called intrinsically disordered?  Yes, a lot.

Let's start with celibate priests. The requirement itself is intrinsically disordered. And, is it not natural law that heterosexual men are attracted to women, homosexual men to other men? Yielding to the nature of human beings would be a wise policy. Forcing policies contrary to human characteristics and human natures is not wise. Sexual abuse among priests happens for many reasons. To say it is less likely because priests must pretend to be celibate is peculiar thinking. Further, to assume Bishops will not hide abusing priests crosses the line into whacko thinking.

Food taboos are another odd line of thinking. Eating certain food on certain days, fasting and taboos of various foods is odder than not believing in an invisible being.

Lots of things in the Bible are there because they were "revealed." They were revealed in private moments to individual people without witnesses. This is not something that would stand up in our courts--but it is routine in religion.

Psychiatrists often want to know if patients "hear voices." Religious people hear voices all the time. Pat Robertson heard from God Donald Trump would defeat Joe Biden. Paul talked several times with a dead Jesus. Every election cycle several Republican candidates say they heard from God that God wanted them to run for President.

The term "intrinsically disordered" is a favorite in Christianity. It is time the phrase is turned on Christianity itself.

  1. Old Jinx here with an email that leads no where.

Been hearing this crap for most of my life and completely agree its intrinsically disordered. What else can you say about a world wide corporation that could care less about its manipulated masses and more about its own power, wealth and public image. Its amazing what the manipulated can be led to believe.
