There is No Doubt, Trump will be the Republican Candidate

Trump held a rally in Arizona yesterday. He has two per month scheduled for several months. He has lots of donated money to do this which no rival Republican has. There is no rival anyway.

Biden is already running. His speech about Trump was the opening of his campaign. Biden laid his trap for Trump. He said Trump is a liar. Now when Trump lies about the 2020 election results he walks into Biden's wheelhouse.

The media stories about Trump cover what is on the surface and understandable. This is Trump endorses Republicans he likes and others cannot get in the game. This means candidates who game the lie about 2020 run are nominated. More honest candidates give up or are defeated and the Party goes into the election season wounded. The odds of winning go down.

Many then ask if these lies wound Trump as a candidate and if the lie takes down others on the ticket why does he insist on running? Another way of saying this is, why would Trump want to go down as a two-time loser. All of this assumes Trump wants to win and wants his selected candidates to win. Maybe that is not his goal at all.

What Trump has learned, maybe to his surprise, is he can make a lot of money by being a candidate. The hundreds of millions earned since his defeat testify to the profitability of running. The category of organization he formed allows him to use the money almost for anything including his businesses. Perhaps he doesn't mind losing. Perhaps bringing in hundreds of millions of dollars for himself is the goal, not winning the election.

This successful fund raising blocks the fund raising for the rest of the Republican field. Big monied people do not want to open their pocketbooks for a loss. Small donors give to Trump.

This opportunity to profit and prevent others from raising money make it inevitable Trump will be the candidate. Any other analysis misses the point.
