Four Women In the U.S. House Acknowledge Publicly They Have Had Abortions

How different the world has become. Only a few years back no standing U.S. House Representative would have admitted to having an abortion. Now there are four of them, three Democrats and one Republican. In the past, anti abortion zealots created the notion, "Abortion is so terrible you who had one cannot talk about it." Now, women across the country are talking about their abortions. It is not something terrible and there is nothing wrong with talking about it.

On Face Book recently a gay friend of mine has been telling the story of the Gay Awareness Proclamations he requested and I issued. He has be remembering stories of the experience and posting old newspaper clippings. I remember one of the criticisms was I should not talk about the gay citizens in our community. It was such a grievous sin it must not be discussed in public. Others said it would be so harmful to our community people would not want to live there. Since then it has almost doubled in size.

The Turnaway Study is the largest and most controlled study of abortion thus far. No other study has met the standards used in Turnaway. It found women who had abortions suffered no more mental stress than those who were turned away from having an abortion because they had passed the legal date. The propaganda from the religious right perhaps has freighted women from telling of their abortions. Now that is changing.

Once in a while male Congressman is drawn into the controversy. I'm not remembering his name just now but a Republican House member from Georgia, anti abortion all the way, was confronted with a statement by a former girlfriend he drove her to an abortion clinic. He had to confess. Then he switched sides and went to work for the ACLU.

Perhaps the four women in Congress will inspire young women in central Texas just now to make the long drives to obtain out of state abortions. I've read clinics in other states near the border have been inundated by Texas women trying to reach an abortion facility. It is thought there might be poor women in central Texas unable to escape who will give birth. I have seen no speculation as to how many women have had to do without abortions.

Hats off to the four women in Congress. We need fearless politicians more than ever today and they are good examples.

  1. Jon doesn't want people to snitch or sue others for providing information on those who break the Texas law of abortion. Does that apply to things like providing information on those who kill 4 year-olds? If so, he is at odds with a Tampa city councilman - https://www.foxnews.com/us/tampa-councilman-no-snitching-5-arrested-suni-bell-death

It took Tampa police 6 weeks to arrest the 5 suspects in her death. If Jon had his way, they may never had been caught. Remember, public, "NO SNITCHING!"

  2. “To all the Black women and girls who have had abortions and will have abortions, we have nothing to be ashamed of. We live in a society that has failed to legislate love and justice for us,” said US Congresswomen Bush during the committee proceedings.

This quote points to many things about a Democrat in Congress. One, she points out Black women and girls, intentionally leaving out everyone else. Two, she fails to mention the abortion targets, Blacks, are an intentional effort by Planned Parenthood to kill Black babies. Three, like most wacky liberals, she thinks Congress can legislate love. These 4 congresswomen killed not only their babies but, apparently, their consciences as well.

What was the mantra of the radical left for years, "safe, legal and rare"? Now, it appears to be "often, proud and loud". Perhaps the left will legislate that all women will have to record their abortions with the local government agency that records live births. After all, why be ashamed? Be loud, be proud.

  3. Jeopardy:

    Answer: Shelley Lynn Thornton

Question: What is name of the baby born to mother "Jane Roe" from Roe v. Wade?

Shelly Lynn Thorton's identity was only made public this year. She will provide her first ever interview on ABC News this coming Monday. Jane Roe gave birth to the child prior to the decision of Roe v. Wade, the case she was more or less coerced into partaking with as a vehicle to bring about the SCOTUS decision.

    1. It will be interesting to see how another person whose "life" was almost taken by abortion might have a perspective different from my own.
