The "Stolen Election" Lie's Roots are in Religion


I thought the lie Biden's election was tainted with fraud originated with the likes of Trump himself, Rudy and the usual political entourage. It turns out the lie is most often repeated by some in right wing Christianity. The path to the lie is simple. Trump is a messianic figure. God would not allow his defeat. Even if we have no evidence now we know it is there somewhere. Paraphrasing, "When we say the election was stolen because God would not allow Biden to win and know there is evidence somewhere, though we don't know where, we are not telling a lie."

A site that make fun of Christians said today, "Anyone who believes there is an invisible being(s) would have no trouble believing there are invisible votes somewhere."  

Now there is prophesy Trump will return to office in August. This sounds quite like the many times in my life preachers have predicted the end of the world on a specific day. Some of these, like Harold Camping, sincerely believed in the time specific. When it didn't happen he apologized and said he was re studying the signs. He radio program was a big success. Then there was the father/son team the Armstrongs who preached something similar. I'm looking forward to the theater of July and August when Trump is to make his triumphant return. Perhaps someone will began preaching Jesus and Trump will arrive together, Trump in a biz jet and Jesus floating down. (I wonder if when Jesus floats he has to make corrections for wind like an airplane pilot does? Would someone who knows about this clue me in.)

Since God sees everything, God would know where and when the cheating occurred. It seems to me people who think of themselves as close to God would have access to this information.

Those of us who are curious to know where the fraud occurred with just have to wait until August to find out. Trump, however, finds this waiting time profitable. He does not want to admit Biden won the election because he knows this would hurt fund raising. Maintaining the election was stolen opens up the pocketbooks and Christians and the gullible. Both groups are needed to increase Trump's income.

Who Suffers from a "Hardened Heart"

Some years ago on this blog there was a discussion about what the Bible calls "The hardened heart." The "hardened heart" was the explanation given for why people like me cannot accept the tenets of Christianity. We are unable to believe there are floating spirits and gods or imaginary places people go when the die. Now, a prominent Christian preacher and author has given us a way to diagnose the "hardened heart." It contained some surprises.  Rev. John Piper, who spoke about the hardened heart, said we can see this in a person who lacks "ordinary tenderness and compassion." He went on to describe the characteristics of a person without the affliction of the hardened heart. A healthy person displays empathy and sympathy. Those with the hardened heart are like stone. Young Women can see Bull$hit a Mile Away

Republicans including their Forced Birth subgroup is bother by recent election results and polling. All show young women going to the left. A poll shows young women are 30% more likely to be very liberal than young men. The link advises the Forced Birth community to give young pregnant women an uplifting message. The message suggested is, "Buck up. You've got this. You can give birth and have a happy life." Another way of saying this is, "It will be OK if you miss work and/or are fired because of the birth. If you cannot make your rent payment, it's OK. Somewhere out there is another place to live. We don't know where but be optimistic."   This is an add on to the new version of the Forced Birth message, "We're for both the baby and the mother." They are not and never have been for the mother.
