Does Anyone See a Parallel in This

From The Unnecessary Science; A Critical Analysis of Natural Law Theory discussing the writing of Catholic philosopher Edward Feser, a hypothetical story:

The world is at loggerheads over religion. Nuclear bombs are about to fall.

The grave of Elvis in Graceland is found opened, the body of Elvis gone. There is confusion as to what happened and why.

It's 5 AM at a Denny's, only 13 people including staff are present. Elvis calmly walks in and orders a milkshake. He is dressed in his trademark cape. People gasp and run to touch him. He skin is healthy as it was when he was young. People ask him what happened, why did he disappear, why is he here?

He replies he has returned to start a new religion, Elvisism. He is vague about its tenets but refers to peace, happiness and the sacredness of rock and roll music. There is a requirement the faithful listen to one of his songs once a week.

He explains those present there in Denny's are the ones he has chosen spread his religion. Then he stands and strolls out the door. People chase after him because they want to know more. They go out the door but he has vanished, gone.

Those in Denny's tell the story on social media, it goes all over the world. People want to learn more about Elvisism. But, there are scoffers. Those who doubt say this could all have been made up. They continued with their scoffing until this dramatic event: The cashier reveals she filmed the entire thing on her phone.

Elvisim spreads like wildfire. All other religions are buried under the power of the resurrected Elvis. Disagreements over older religions vanish because the world finds common ground listening to the King.

Still some scoffers persist. Cell phone videos can be doctored they say. It could have been an imposter with a magic trick to make Him disappear.

When Elvisim became established with a seminary and a bureaucracy, men wise in the faith reviewed all this information. After pondering all of this they issued a conclusion, "The preponderance of evidence tells us for certain Elvis was resurrected and did instruct us to start Elvisim. It is in the best interests of all not to have scoffers continue to sow seeds of doubt."
