Why Do Democrats Think They Can Pull Off Impeachment

From what I'm reading this weekend, Democrats in the House will introduce Articles of Impeachment this coming Monday. When I first heard that it sounded like a bad idea. I thought why do this when he will be gone in a few days? Then, I got to thinking what might be going on. They may be thinking about Republicans.

We know Trump is already blocking fund raising efforts by the Republican Party. Money is going to his campaign war chest and the Party has to ask him for help. This means, in many respects, he has become the Republican Party. If he controls the funds then he controls the platform and who serves as party officials.

We've already seen evidence of this. Several Republican Senators, House Members and Governors have criticized the President's role in the Capital invasion. However, Party officials have not. Party officials are in their positions because of Trump and are in no position to criticize him in any way shape or form. He picked them for their positions and pays their salaries.

I'm guessing many Republican Senators, House Members and Governors would like to move the Party out from under Trump and return it to being a "big tent" with a variety of players, funding sources and ideas. While this is what they want there has been no opportunity to bring it about.

That is until now. Now they have an excuse to vote to impeach Trump. If he talks up being a candidate in 2014 their path is blocked. If he is excluded from being a candidate in 2014 they will have, or hope to have, regained control of the Party's funds, staff and ideology. This would happen if he is impeached either before or after he leaves office.

Some Republicans are asking him to resign. They do not really want him to resign because he could run again in 2024. What they really want to do is impeach and prevent him from ever being a candidate for President again.

Having said all of this, I must remind myself I was a politician and have known well scores of others. I have found these individuals to be, in fact, individuals. They have various motivations. Some are simple air heads. But, others are willing to take political risks to advance ideas they believe in but might not be politically popular. John F. Kennedy wrote a book about such Democrats and Republicans, Profile in Courage.

What we are about to see is some of the best political theater in years.

You got that right. You have to question the sanity of democrats and RINOs poking the bear when logically he will leave in 11 days. I think there is a very simple answer: They are panicked. You have all these loose canons on the demo side, AOC etal that want to throw the whole Trump family and every Trump supporter in jail. How does Trump prevent this and live his life in peace? An insurance policy that many of the politicians and judges do not like. Roberts, are you listening? There is a declassification movement (necessary for an insurance policy) at hand that they need to stop. Their panic will then stop once the president is impeached and the declassification movement is stopped.

It will get ugly and fast moving.

We're all wondering what shoes will drop. I'm wondering about the thousands of "complaints" about polling places sent in by Trump supporters. Millions of dollars were spent by Trump out in close states before the election. A lot of it did not show up on TV screens--spent somewhere else.

I think it was spent training, and maybe paying, Trump supporters how to file complaints about the coming elections. Large numbers of people had to have been trained on how to file complaints the day of or day after the election. "Listen folks, we won't need these unless it looks like he lost. If he lost we will need several thousands. Look for anything you could complain about, people took breaks and no one was guarding the table, ask to follow the clerk into the rest room but he/she locked the door, two people at a table whispered and pointed to something..." My theory is the complaints will look more dishonest than Trump fraud claims.

    2. Those anecdotes of yours sound pretty trivial....bathroom breaks....whispers...

Yes they are. So far as we know, all the complaints were about trivial matters. That is, except those that complained about the rules which they should have addressed before the election.

  2. Furthermore, when a loss prevention officer busts a shoplifter, it is as they exit the building. This is to ensure that the crime was committed in full, otherwise, there is no crime or it is more difficult to prosecute. Whether you like it or not, Biden is now officially our president-elect. This happened 1-7-2021. The folks who got Biden there are just now exiting the building. Timing is a difficult thing to wait for sometimes. Currently, Trump is orderly transitioning "for the next administration". Trump really didn't previously have a problem saying Biden's name.
