Christian Right: Angels Have Been Dispatched to Fix the Election Numbers

God is angry with the election results an evangelical preacher announced this week. God has dispatched angels to correct is incorrect vote count. What a relief this must be to Trump supporters.

It was fun to scroll through comments of religious whackos during the week. Pat Robertson was especially animated. He has been saying for weeks God told him Trump was going to win. Now he is saying Satan is causing Biden to appear the winner and is imploring believers to pray that Satan's scheme will not be successful. 

Other conservative pundits have written that every voter who voted for Biden has the blood of abortions on their hands. We have to remember that if voters were united against abortion they would have voted overwhelmingly for Trump. They were told time and again by Catholic clergy and others this election was about abortion.  

What will be great political theater in the next year will be government's role in health care. The balance of power in the House and Senate will make it a challenge for Biden to do what he would like. But my own theory is the "outrage" against socialized medicine will not be as easy to pull off now as it was in the Obama years. People now see the logic of everyone having access to health care and how it cannot be achieved with the current system. I read today on one of the news sites a rant by a doctor on the evils of government in health care. He gave the old arguments, it will break the bank, waits will be too long, patients will have no or fewer choices, etc. These arguments make the assumption a big majority of the public think the current health care system is wonderful. 

Back to the angels who will fix the bad election outcome, I'm wondering what they will do. If they are invisible maybe they can go into county court houses and change thousands of ballots. As we learned in Rudy's grievances, ballot counting is not done with a national programmed computer--it is all done in individual computers located at thousands of locations. Are there enough angels? Or, can angels be created with a snap of God's fingers?

We'll have to wait to learn the answers to these questions.

So much about U.S. society and religion can be learned from the Civil War and what happened afterwards. After its defeat, the South started a myth about the unethical soldiers from the North. The South fought for principles of God and states rights. The North did not. Recently, the Vatican defrocked Frank Pavone. His diehard fans are outraged. This is because he cleverly manipulated his fans and the press all the while living well from donations and, apparently, abusing some women.
