Evolution in Humans is Still Going On


Those who deny evolution have a new problem. There is an artery in our arms used for development of the fetus. Formerly, it disappeared in most humans by the time they became adults. It is increasingly seen as surviving in adults. This is happening because of evolution. 

Something similar is happening with wisdom teeth. Increasingly, humans never have them.

The increase of an artery and decrease of wisdom teeth is happening because of some change that affects the body. It is an explanation of how we humans used to be something else and evolution eventually developed that something else into humans. Evolution and not Biblical Creationism should be taught in schools.

But, efforts to teach children myth and pretend it is science continues. Even President George W. Bush said he thought education was improved if children were taught more explanations about the origin of humans. He was referring to teaching creationism. Why would a President of the United States advocate teaching false concepts to children? He needs to down in history as one bad President.

President Trump, also, has been bad for science. He goes out of his way to deny what is established science. While there will always be individuals who refuse to accept science it is a tragedy for public figures to practice this. If lives are lost because a President presents false information there should be public outrage. This is true even if recognizing the findings of science costs votes.

One of the worst things happening today is denial of man's impact on the climate. It is cruel of current humans to harm the environment shorting the time the earth can support humans. 

Recognizing where we came from may help us understand how we humans can extend the time of our survival on earth.

The Religious Capitol Invaders May Yet Win

So much about U.S. society and religion can be learned from the Civil War and what happened afterwards. After its defeat, the South started a myth about the unethical soldiers from the North. The South fought for principles of God and states rights. The North did not. It was the South, this propaganda told the country, that had the high moral ground.  The Capitol invaders, encouraged by Trump, swallowed the myth that Biden's election was stolen. Thus, they think they held and still hold the high moral ground. This was reinforced by the cross and prayers during the invasion. Father Frank Pavone, the Ultimate Crook

Recently, the Vatican defrocked Frank Pavone. His diehard fans are outraged. This is because he cleverly manipulated his fans and the press all the while living well from donations and, apparently, abusing some women. By making abortion the "sin" of the century, and himself the main opposition to this one sin, he himself could get away with any sin he pleased.  As the link points out, Pavone was the perfect priest for the Trump era.
