When Trump Slams Omar His Real Target is Islam



Why is President Trump going after Representative Omar? Because many of his supporters think she is pretending to be religious but is not.

To are millions of people in the U.S., Islam is not entitled to protection of Religious Freedom. That is because they it is not in their minds a genuine religion. This has been expressed not only by individual citizens but by religious leaders.

An overarching view for those who want to deny religious freedom to Muslims is the view that Muslims place their religion over allegiance to the United States. The religion of Islam, it is said, is all about taking over the U.S. government and requiring all citizens to renounce Christianity.

Tony Perkins of the Family Alliance, who is not what one would ever call an intellectual, was more precise. He has said Islam not really a religion but a judicial and economic system. He thinks it is only 16% a religion.

At this time in our history to demonize Islam is to be successful in politics. Crowds turn out and chant support for Trump and for deporting a U.S. citizen, Representative Omar. It is hard to come up with anything more opposite to "religious freedom" than demonizing Islam.

There is no evidence citizens of the U.S. who are Muslims are any less patriotic than Christians or Hindus or atheists. People of all these religious views, and dozens of others, serve in the armed forces, pay taxes, stay out of jail and vote.

What group could be more suspicious about putting a religion into our government that Christians. When Christians arrived on our continent they converted the natives and have been trying ever since to make our government Christian.

Less patriotic are those who demonize people with religious views different than their own.

Islam as such has little or nothing to do with it. he is merely holding up the words of a silly extremist as a way of discrediting the democratic party. as usual your fixations have taken you off thetrack. BTW if you should condemn the Islamists for their attitudes re women. homosexuals, etc. is that" demonizing people with religious views different than their own?'' and you put down Tony Perkins.

Who Suffers from a "Hardened Heart"

Some years ago on this blog there was a discussion about what the Bible calls "The hardened heart." The "hardened heart" was the explanation given for why people like me cannot accept the tenets of Christianity. We are unable to believe there are floating spirits and gods or imaginary places people go when the die. Now, a prominent Christian preacher and author has given us a way to diagnose the "hardened heart." It contained some surprises.  Rev. John Piper, who spoke about the hardened heart, said we can see this in a person who lacks "ordinary tenderness and compassion." Young Women can see Bull$hit a Mile Away

Republicans including their Forced Birth subgroup is bother by recent election results and polling. All show young women going to the left. A poll shows young women are 30% more likely to be very liberal than young men. The link advises the Forced Birth community to give young pregnant women an uplifting message. The message suggested is, "Buck up. You've got this. You can give birth and have a happy life." Another way of saying this is, "It will be OK if you miss work and/or are fired because of the birth. If you cannot make your rent payment, it's OK. Somewhere out there is another place to live.
