Franklin Graham: Pray that God Smites Trumps Enemies


Franklin Graham has declared a date in June as the day Christians should join him in prayer to protect Trump from his enemies. I suppose that means praying that Trump be protected from press and politicians who point to his paying off Stormy Daniels to keep her from talking about having sex with him. Maybe that includes praying against Daniels herself for telling everyone about their tryst. I'm not sure what is God is expected to do about those who truthfully report the President's moral failures. We're told God works in mysterious ways.

I'd suggest Graham include prayers for the Presidents friends, Kim Jong Il of North Korea and Putin of Russia. No doubt they also need God's protection from their enemies.

Political enemies have brought up Trump's personal profits from being President. Visiting foreign dignitaries make it a practice of staying at Trump's Washington hotel and telling him about it. Certainly, God would want to punish any politician who makes this public.'

Lately Trump has needed God's help with farmers. Low farm prices, brought on in part because of Trump's tariff have caused some farmers to complain about him. Although farmers and the general economy were prospering under the former terms of trade, Trump felt the arrangement needed to be disrupted. Franklin will be praying farmers stop complaining.

While he is at it, Graham could repeat Homer Simpson's Thanksgiving Prayer, "Thank you God for nuclear power..."

Conservative Christians like Graham like to pray in public instead of in private. On the coming day of prayer maybe he can rent the National Cathedral in Washington.

The Religious Capitol Invaders May Yet Win

So much about U.S. society and religion can be learned from the Civil War and what happened afterwards. After its defeat, the South started a myth about the unethical soldiers from the North. The South fought for principles of God and states rights. The North did not. It was the South, this propaganda told the country, that had the high moral ground.  The Capitol invaders, encouraged by Trump, swallowed the myth that Biden's election was stolen. Thus, they think they held and still hold the high moral ground. This was reinforced by the cross and prayers during the invasion. Father Frank Pavone, the Ultimate Crook

Recently, the Vatican defrocked Frank Pavone. His diehard fans are outraged. This is because he cleverly manipulated his fans and the press all the while living well from donations and, apparently, abusing some women. By making abortion the "sin" of the century, and himself the main opposition to this one sin, he himself could get away with any sin he pleased.  As the link points out, Pavone was the perfect priest for the Trump era. Trump is so self-important laws have no role in his life. He felt accountable to no one. Women were there to be had. Pavone and Trump are interchangeable.  Pavone was very successful raising money.
