What If God Didn't Make Only Man and Woman

It's common for religious conservatives to say there is no such thing as homosexuality, bisexuality or those who transition in self identification from one gender to another. It is not possible because, they say, God made only males and females.

It turns out all the gender variations that occur among humans happens elsewhere in nature. There are creatures that are half one and half the other.

And, why wouldn't there be. Everyone who has been around animals knows they are born with a variety of characteristics. There is a reason, however, some religious minds are closed to the notion that humans can be born with the physiology of one gender but mentally are certain they are of the opposite gender.

The reason is this set of Christians (and other religions) just don't like these people. They don't like them in the same way some people don't like those of other races or even creeds. It comes from somewhere we don't understand but the hatred is there.

Perhaps what frightens such people most is that there religion would find variations in gender actually are a part of nature and those humans who experience it have no choice. This would leave prejudiced people high and dry. Without religion to justify their prejudices the prejudices would be exposed to be what actually they are, simple hatred.

The good thing is that time solves some of this. The number in the U.S. who hated black people has diminished as old people die off and younger ones do not take on the belief. This is happening in Christian denominations as conservative ones split off and will sink of their own weight in time.

If there were a god, we would learn he/she made many categories of gender. It takes a while to soak that up.
