Drag Sets the Christian Right on Fire

Mayor Armin Mizoni of Keller, Texas, not only wants to start city council meetings to start with prayers, he wants only clergy who are against drag to pray. A local Episcopal Priest was invited but then disinvited. This member of the clergy, the Mayor said, does not conform to the Christian values of Keller.

The Episcopalian Priest was disinvited because his church hosted a drag event. In you are interested in booking the same act, it is Madame Lexical. Be aware, however, you may not be invited to pray at the start of the City Council meeting in Keller, TX.

Keller, Texas, votes Republican. It has 45,000 people and is in the Ft. Worth/Dallas metro area. Apparently, it's politics lean Christian.

In a metropolitan area like Keller there have to be any number religious beliefs, atheist, Pagan, Hindu and many others. There is bound to be one or more gay bars in or near Keller. In a war against sin, it's hard to understand why a member of Christian clergy, probably holding onto Christian numbers and maybe adding some, is so evil he is banned from the list of clergy praying at City Hall.

So far as I know, prayers before public meetings is not common anymore across the Northeast, Midwest and West Coast. In Texas, it remains. Such a controversial and pointless ritual should be left in the dustbin of history.
